Celine Spring 2027 Menswear: Michael Rider’s Debut Collection Delivers “Toughness and Tenderness”

Celine’s new creative director Michael Rider presented his first menswear show at the Saint-Cloud Tennis Club, delivering a collection titled “Toughness and Tenderness.” Under the previous direction of Hedi Slimane, Celine menswear was defined by rock, retro American, and narrow, dark silhouettes. Michael Rider, who previously worked with Phoebe Philo, brought a return to classic French elegance. The collection featured fitted fine-knit sleeveless tops, satin shirts, and slim trousers that maintained a slender line but shed the sharpness of rock, alongside broad-shouldered coats, wide-leg pants, and capes paired with leather accessories and fabric flower brooches,塑造 a poetic, bohemian male image. From reimagined classic sneakers to white cowboy boots, from leather waist bags to accessories spelling out the brand name, the collection outlined a new menswear image combining artistic temperament with modernity. Rider used lightweight natural fabrics like linen and cotton, with shirts intentionally retaining natural creases.
